Abstract:

Sleep quality and perceived stress are critical factors influencing the physical and psychological well-being of nursing students, particularly during clinical training. This descriptive study explores the levels of sleep quality and perceived stress among nursing students engaged in clinical practice and examines the relationship between these variables. Clinical training often exposes students to demanding schedules, academic pressure, patient care responsibilities, and emotional challenges, which may disrupt sleep patterns and increase stress levels. Data were collected using standardized self-report instruments assessing sleep quality and perceived stress among nursing students undergoing clinical postings. Descriptive statistical analysis was employed to summarize participant characteristics and study variables. The findings indicate that a significant proportion of students experienced poor sleep quality and moderate to high levels of perceived stress during clinical training. An inverse relationship was observed between sleep quality and perceived stress. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions, stress management strategies, and institutional support to promote better sleep health and psychological well-being among nursing students.
